Turkey's citrus and sea snail exports jump to $911 M and $9 M in first half of 2026

According to the Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations, Turkish citrus producers exported 807,114 tonnes worth $911 million in the January‑June 2026 period, up from $518 million a year earlier. Mandarin sales led the market at $532 million, followed by lemon, orange and grapefruit. Major buyers included Iraq ($357 million), Russia ($236 million), Ukraine ($47 million), Poland and Romania. Citrus sector deputy chairman Kemal Kaçmaz said the products’ quality and packaging are keeping them competitive in global markets and that the upcoming season should see higher volumes.

In the same period, Turkey’s sea‑snail (marine mollusk) exports reached $9.1 million, covering 829 tonnes sold to nine countries. Spain was the top market with $3.13 million, followed by South Korea ($2.69 million) and China ($2.02 million). Export values rose 69% and quantities 59% versus the previous year. DKİB chairman Selçuk İskender highlighted strong overseas demand and emphasized sustainable harvesting practices.
