Turkey's DABIS career guidance system launched on ISKUR Mobile
The Danışman Bilgi Sistemi (DABİS), a data‑driven career guidance platform designed to help students make informed choices about university majors and vocational tracks, has been integrated into the ISKUR Mobile app. The service targets roughly 3.5 million high‑school graduates each year – about 1 million LGS candidates and 2.5 million YKS candidates – by providing real‑time labour‑market indicators such as employment rates, average salaries, time to first job, entrepreneurship rates and sector‑specific data.
Data are compiled from YÖK, MEB and anonymised SGK records covering 2010‑2024. Users can compare programmes across 14 vocational and 15 university indicators, view regional employment patterns, and access face‑to‑face counselling through ISKUR offices. The rollout aims to broaden access to evidence‑based counselling beyond school advisers, supporting more comprehensive and transparent decision‑making for Turkish students and their families.
