Turkey DABIS student career guidance rollout

Overview

In July 2026, Turkey’s public employment agency İŞKUR introduced the Danışman Bilgi Sistemi (DABİS), a data-driven platform that combines education and labour-market information to help students choose university majors and vocational paths. On 19 July, the service was integrated into the İŞKUR Mobile app, offering real-time indicators such as employment rates, average salaries, time to first job, and entrepreneurship rates for roughly 3.5 million high-school graduates, including approximately 1 million LGS candidates and 2.5 million YKS candidates. The platform draws on data from YÖK, MEB, and anonymised SGK records covering 2010–2024, allowing users to compare programmes across 14 vocational and 15 university indicators.

By the end of July, İŞKUR expanded the rollout with information stalls in Denizli province, where staff provided one-to-one advice and guided users to the DABİS portal via the mobile app or website. The agency emphasised that the system aims to close information gaps for students, parents, applicants, and counsellors, promoting more evidence-based career planning.

By late August, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security reported that the DABİS application had reached 353,606 total users. Minister Vedat Işıkhan stated that the application provides data-driven support for young people throughout their educational and professional transitions, assisting users from the high school preference period through to post-university graduation.
