Turkey's dried tomato exports earn $60.9 million in first half of 2026
In the January–June 2026 period Turkey exported 18,301 tonnes of dried tomatoes to 91 countries, generating US $60.989 million in revenue. The United States was the largest market with US $16.53 million, followed by Italy (US $8.864 million) and the United Kingdom (US $5.344 million). Production is concentrated in Antalya, Mersin and İzmir, where about 15 kg of fresh tomatoes yields 1 kg of dried product. Industry officials said the sector aims to reach US $100 million in export value by year‑end, citing strong global demand for the ingredient in pizza, pasta, sauces and hamburger products.
Abdulvahap Olgun, chairman of the Torbalı Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the season's abundant harvest and stressed the importance of the dried‑tomato segment for Turkey’s agricultural export earnings.
