Turkey's Education Ministry Announces Extra Lesson Payments for Teachers

The Turkish Ministry of National Education (MEB) released payment details for two separate extra‑lesson schemes affecting teachers. For the high‑school entrance exam (LGS) preference counselors, the ministry set a workload of 50 hours over the 13‑27 July period, with a daily rate of 5 hours at 219 TL per hour, resulting in a total gross payment of 10 950 TL. Payments are scheduled to be transferred to teachers' bank accounts in early August.

In a second scheme, teachers who completed the online professional training in June 2025‑2026 will receive compensation for 15 hours of extra lessons. The gross amount is 2 914.53 TL; after a 20 % income‑tax deduction and a 22.12 TL stamp tax, the net payment is 2 309.50 TL, with a total tax cut of 605.03 TL. Disbursement will occur after payroll processing, with exact dates varying by provincial education directorates.
