Turkey's Education Ministry sets new teacher transfer rules and dual payments

The Turkish Ministry of Education has clarified that teachers whose appointments are published cannot automatically cancel their assignments. Those with a valid excuse may submit a formal petition to the provincial directorate, which will decide on the request.

A new application portal for intra‑province and inter‑province transfers opened, with submissions accepted until 24 July. Approved transfers will be finalized in August. Teachers moving to a new district or province will receive two separate payments: a travel allowance calculated based on the distance to the new school, and an automatic salary promotion tied to the new district’s bank agreement.
