Turkey's Electronics Exports Hit Record $9.1 B in First Half of 2024
Turkey’s electricity and electronics sector posted a 9.8% rise in the January‑June period, reaching $9.1 billion in exports – the highest six‑month total on record. The sector’s performance helped lift overall Turkish exports to $136.1 billion, up 3.6% year‑to‑date, and placed it third among the country’s export categories.
In June alone, sales climbed 30.6% to $1.664 billion. The United Kingdom was the top destination with $901.3 million, followed by Germany ($686.9 million), the United States ($679.2 million), Poland ($394.6 million) and Ukraine ($364.1 million). Growth was driven by global demand for energy‑transition equipment, renewable‑energy projects, grid modernisation, data‑centre hardware, electrification and energy‑efficiency solutions. Industry leaders highlighted Turkey’s compliance with technical standards, flexible production capacity, a strong domestic supply chain and proximity to European markets as competitive advantages, and they expect the sector to exceed its year‑end export target.
