Turkey's Murat Kurum Unveils COP31 Action Agenda at Bonn Conference

At the Bonn Climate Change Conference, Turkey’s Environment Minister Murat Kurum presented the COP31 Action Agenda, outlining ten priority areas and six strategic targets for the upcoming summit in Antalya. The agenda emphasizes zero‑waste and methane reduction, clean energy and electrification, food security and sustainable agriculture, green industrial competitiveness, protection of oceans and coastal ecosystems, climate‑resilient cities, youth participation – “Gençler bu işin öznesi olacak” – and dynamic, resilient health systems. It also calls for cross‑sector synergy and enhanced support for Nationally Determined Contributions.

Kurum stressed that the process is guided by transparency, dialogue and fair consultation, aiming to turn commitments into measurable results and leave a lasting legacy for COP31.

The presentation signals Turkey’s vision of a "Future COP" and sets the framework for international cooperation ahead of the 2026 conference.
