Turkey's Erdoğan condemns Gaza genocide and urges accountability
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the AK Party’s 33rd consultation meeting, harshly criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza and declaring that “the genocide’s account will be questioned, questioned, questioned.” He praised the AK Party’s role in transforming Turkish politics and pledged continued cooperation among ministries.
AK Party MP Zeynep Yıldız highlighted that Israel’s observer status in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly has been stalled for a year despite accusations of genocide, calling for the body’s rules to be applied uniformly. She urged stronger EU‑Turkey partnership and noted Turkey’s implementation of European Court of Human Rights rulings. Another MP, Murat Cıngı, described the European Parliament’s Turkey report as a diplomatic maneuver and emphasized Turkey’s strategic role in regional and global affairs.
