Turkey’s Erdogan backs US‑Iran talks, urges Israel restraint as Saudi leaders mourn Iran’s late leader

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the United States‑Iran negotiations that are being mediated by Pakistan and called on Israel to refrain from actions that could derail the diplomatic process. He warned that Israeli military moves in Gaza, Lebanon or Syria could reignite regional tensions and emphasized the need for all parties to cooperate for lasting peace.

In Tehran, the state funeral for the assassinated Iranian Supreme Leader drew massive crowds, and senior Saudi officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Kurashi, conveyed King Salman’s condolences to President Ebrahim Raisi. The ceremony highlighted deep‑seated anti‑US and anti‑Israeli sentiment in Iran and underscored the complex diplomatic relations among Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United States.
