Turkey's Eskişehir and Gaziantep face soaring temperatures amid forecasted heat
The Meteorology 3rd Region Directorate forecasts that Eskişehir will experience a marked temperature rise on Thursday, with the districts of Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi reaching 36 °C and 34 °C respectively. Most other districts are expected to stay between 26 °C and 30 °C under partly cloudy skies and light to moderate north‑northwest winds. No rainfall is expected, and officials advise residents to avoid prolonged sun exposure between 11 00 and 16 00.
In Gaziantep, a five‑day outlook predicts daytime highs up to 33 °C with low humidity, followed by partly cloudy conditions. A thunderstorm warning is issued for Saturday, June 14, when temperatures will drop to the high 20s. Residents are similarly warned to take precautions against sunstroke during the hottest part of the day.
