Türkiye exports to EU reach $71.8 billion in first eight months
Türkiye’s total exports reached $185 billion during the January-August period, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. Exports to the European Union (EU) rose by 3.6%, totaling approximately $71.8 billion.
Germany remains the largest export market within the EU, accounting for $13.58 billion. Other major EU markets include Italy, Spain, and France. Notably, Malta saw the highest percentage growth in exports, increasing by 107% to reach $671.6 million.
The automotive industry continues to lead Türkiye’s sectoral exports, surpassing $27 billion in the first eight months of the year. Within the automotive sector, the supply industry contributed significantly, while the iron and non-ferrous metals sector recorded the largest value increase in exports to the EU.
