Turkey's Export Surge and Record Rose Harvest Boost Economy

Turkey's export figures for January‑May 2026 reached $111.169 billion, with 21 provinces each surpassing $1 billion in sales. Istanbul led with $4.495 billion, followed by Kocaeli ($3.060 billion), İzmir ($2.79 billion), Bursa ($1.762 billion) and Ankara ($1.356 billion).

In the western city of Isparta, the rose harvest is expected to yield about 13,000 tons of roses, a key raw material for the global cosmetics industry. Producers warn that current base prices do not cover rising labour and processing costs, prompting calls for higher payments.

Both developments underscore the strength of Turkey’s manufacturing and agricultural sectors, contributing to the country’s growing presence in international markets.
