Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said preparations for the July NATO leaders’ summit in Ankara are being tailored to accommodate U.S. President Donald Trump, adding, “Bildiğimiz kadarıyla evet, Trump zirveye katılmayı planlıyor.” He also noted that Iran‑U.S. negotiations are “closer than ever” and that a cease‑fire in the Strait of Hormuz would ease regional pressure.

Fidan is scheduled to travel to Indonesia on 3 June for official talks aimed at expanding bilateral trade to $10 billion and deepening cooperation in energy, transport, high‑technology and defence, while also discussing Gaza, the Houthi‑linked Strait of Hormuz situation and broader regional security issues.

Later in the week, Fidan will visit Singapore for high‑level meetings with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Singapore’s foreign and security ministers. He will promote the 2015 free‑trade agreement, seek greater investment in sectors such as renewable energy, AI and halal food, and explore defence collaboration and multilateral coordination in forums like the UN, G20 and ASEAN.
