Turkey's Hatay Region Distributes Orange Oil to Citrus Farmers

In Erzin, a district of Turkey's Hatay province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry carried out a biological and biotechnical pest‑control project on 11 July 2026. The program distributed natural orange‑oil pest‑control products to local citrus growers to reduce reliance on chemical pesticides and promote environmentally friendly farming.

The event was coordinated by the Hatay Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry together with the Erzin District Directorate. Officials attending included Ministry Plant Health and Quarantine Department Head Yalçın Ocak, regional coordinator Ahmet Güneş, branch manager Galip Akti and Erzin district director Vahit Göktekin. A briefing on the B‑Prescription system was also held for local agro‑chemical dealers.

Authorities said the initiative aims to expand biological and biotechnical methods, protect the environment and support sustainable agricultural production in the region.
