Turkey's Hazelnut Base Price Demanded at 360 TL for 2026

Anayol Party leader Ali Karakurt called for the 2026 hazelnut (fındık) base price to be set at a minimum of 360 Turkish lira per kilogram. He argued that production costs on flat land reach 215 TL per kilogram and 290 TL on sloped land, and that adding a 20 % producer share and capital‑risk premium justifies the higher floor price.

Karakurt criticised the current system as favouring foreign monopolies and said it fails to protect Turkish growers, who see their earnings squeezed by labour, fertilizer, pesticide, diesel, pest‑control and transport expenses. He urged a systemic change, warning that the struggle will continue until the exploitation ends and a fair price is secured. The demand comes as the Agricultural Market Office (TMO) prepares to announce the official 2026 hazelnut price, a key issue for Turkey, the world’s leading hazelnut producer.
