Turkey's hazelnut prices hit peak in Giresun as market stalls

As the new harvest season approaches, Turkish hazelnut prices show a mixed picture. In the Black Sea province of Giresun, premium-quality nuts command between 195 TL and 205 TL per kilogram, keeping the region at the top of the market. By contrast, prices in Ordu, Samsun, Trabzon and Sakarya have slipped to ranges of 160–180 TL, prompting producers in those areas to adopt a "wait‑and‑see" stance.

Farmers cite rising fertilizer, pesticide and labor costs, questioning whether current price levels will cover these expenses. The diverging regional price spreads highlight ongoing uncertainty for Turkey’s hazelnut sector ahead of the upcoming harvest.
