Turkey's Health Ministry launches 379 staff hires while specialist doctor vacancies persist

The Turkish Health Ministry announced a recruitment drive for 379 personnel under the 2828 law, covering service staff, civil servants, health technicians and specialist roles. Applicants must be Turkish citizens, over 18, and meet education criteria; no KPSS exam is required. The application window opened on 30 April 2026 and closes on 14 May 2026.

In the same year, the ministry’s specialist doctor appointment round opened 1,747 positions across 90 medical specialties, but only 483 were filled. Nine provinces—Bayburt, Muş, Giresun, Kahramanmaraş, Karabük, Kars, Niğde, Siirt and Zonguldak—had no applicants for several specialties, including surgical, geriatric, perinatal, immunology, allergy and certain pediatric sub‑specialties. Officials attributed the low uptake to better private‑sector conditions, workplace concerns and regional factors, while union representatives warned that persistent vacancies limit health services in affected areas.
