Turkey's Industry Minister Announces $300M Investment Program in Trabzon

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır attended a ceremony in Trabzon where six projects funded by the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) and the Eastern Black Sea Project Regional Development Administration (DOKAP) were inaugurated. During the event 12 new projects with a total investment of 228 million lira were signed, and the openings of the TÜBİTAK Marmara Technopolis Trabzon Campus, the KTÜ VakıfBank Entrepreneurship House and the TÜBİTAK National Technology Workshop were announced.

Kacır outlined a longer‑term plan for the region, stating that ten projects worth 177 million lira will be implemented by 2026 and that a new investment programme of roughly 300 million lira is slated for 2027, targeting tourism, agriculture, livestock and a “Green Road” initiative. He also highlighted Turkey’s 23‑year development record, noting that industrial value‑added has risen above $250 billion and exports have grown from $36 billion to $278 billion.
