Turkey's Industry Minister Kacır awards AK Party badges to two ex‑CHP MPs in Zonguldak
Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır visited Zonguldak for the AK Party Advisory Council meeting and presented party badges to former CHP parliamentarians Nedim Bekar and Kenan Karaveli, who had resigned from the CHP and joined the AK Party.
During his speech Kacır highlighted Turkey's defence‑industry advances, noting that exports rose from $36 billion to $278 billion and that the sector has shifted to value‑added, high‑technology production. He stressed the goal of technological independence, cited the domestically developed "Steel Dome" air‑defence system and Aselsan radars, and contrasted Turkey's progress with Europe’s 80 % defence‑industry import dependence.
The minister also met local merchants in Kilimli, praised the AK Party’s 25‑year history under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and framed the achievements as part of Turkey’s broader goal of economic and strategic self‑reliance.
