Turkey's Intelligence Chief Kalın Holds Cairo Talks on Gaza Ceasefire Roadmap

Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) chief Ibrahım Kalın travelled to Cairo to join meetings with Egyptian and Qatari officials and representatives of Palestinian factions. The participants discussed a draft "roadmap" for implementing the second phase of the Gaza cease‑fire agreement that entered into force on 10 October 2025. The talks covered completing the first‑phase obligations – prisoner exchanges, increased humanitarian assistance and limited Israeli troop withdrawals – and addressed next‑step issues such as Gaza’s governance, reconstruction, the possible deployment of international forces and further Israeli pull‑out.

Kalın also held separate contacts with Egypt’s intelligence minister Hasan Reşad and Qatar’s prime minister‑foreign minister Muhammed bin Abdurrahman Al Sani. In those side meetings, broader regional topics were raised, including the US‑Israel‑Iran conflict and crises in Somalia, Sudan and Libya. The participants described the atmosphere as "yapıcı bir atmosferde" (constructive).
