Turkey's Lavender Tourism Hits Record Attendance at Isparta Village and Karatay Festival
Lavender fields in Kuyucak village, Keçiborlu district of Isparta province began blooming in early July, turning the landscape purple and drawing the first wave of tourists for the new season. Producer Aladdin explained that harvest will start after 10 August, with lavender used in cosmetics, soap, tea and honey, and that visitors can tour the fields and take photos free of charge. Local visitors praised the scenery and called for better signage and road improvements.
In Karatay, Konya, the country's largest lavender garden hosted the Karatay Lavender Days festival, a three‑day event that recorded the highest attendance to date. Guests from across Turkey enjoyed nature, culture, art and entertainment activities. Mayor Hasan Kilca highlighted the festival’s growth into a brand and expressed gratitude to participants and organizers, while visitors lauded the well‑prepared gardens and festive atmosphere.
