Turkey’s Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır unveils industrial and smart‑city projects in Konya

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır attended a ceremony in Konya to open a series of industrial and technology initiatives. He announced the launch of 12 new projects and the signing of 33 additional projects, together representing an investment package of about 11.1 billion Turkish lira, with 301 million lira in financing support and tax incentives covering roughly 50 % of the investment.

Kacır also revealed that TÜBİTAK will establish a Sustainable City Research and Innovation Center in Konya to accelerate smart‑city and green‑technology development. Local officials, including Konya Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay and Mevlana Development Agency Secretary Ihsan Bostancı, stressed the expected boost to regional production, employment and innovation, noting that 1,472 projects have previously received support in the area.
