Turkey's Ministry of Education announces 2026‑27 school calendar and teacher transfer dates

The Turkish Ministry of Education released the full timetable for the 2026‑27 academic year. Schools will reopen on Monday, 14 September 2026, with the first term break scheduled for 16‑20 November 2026 and a mid‑year holiday from 25 January to 5 February 2027. The second term begins on 8 February 2027, followed by a short break on 8‑12 March 2027, and the school year ends on 25 June 2027.

In parallel, the ministry opened the application period for teachers seeking transfer due to family, health, or safety reasons. Applications can be submitted through the MEBBİS system from 13 to 24 July 2026. After verification, the second stage of the placement process will commence, with officials expected to issue district assignment orders.
