Turkey's National Security Council meets under President Erdoğan, issues written statement

The Turkish National Security Council, chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, convened for 2 hours 10 minutes and released a written communiqué. The statement highlighted ongoing operations against the PKK/KCK‑PYD/YPG, FETÖ and ISIS, reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to a terror‑free nation and region, and stressed continued efforts to protect citizens from organized crime.

It also reaffirmed Turkey’s role as guarantor for the safety of Turkish Cypriots, expressed satisfaction with the Iran‑US agreement, praised progress toward peace and stability in Syria, condemned Israeli actions in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and reiterated support for Iraq’s stability. The council called for an immediate cease‑fire in the Russia‑Ukraine war and pledged political and economic cooperation across Africa and the South Caucasus.

The communiqué underscored Turkey’s strategic foreign‑policy goals, stressing its willingness to contribute to regional peace, security and development.
