Turkey's NATO summit role highlighted by Uşak AK Party chief

At the 36th NATO State and Government Leaders Summit in Ankara, Himmet Yaşar, the AK Party provincial chair for Uşak, held a press briefing with local MPs İsmail Güneş, Fahrettin Tuğrul and district chief Mehmet Bitik. Yaşar said the summit demonstrated Turkey’s renewed international prestige and underscored its strategic importance in defence, security, economic ties and regional cooperation.

He emphasized that Turkey pursues a strong diplomacy that prioritises regional peace, justice and stability, and that under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s leadership the country plays a decisive role in crisis resolution. Yaşar also noted that the party has enrolled 2,290 new members in 2026 and remains open to all citizens regardless of partisan affiliation.
