Turkish Parliament Approves Law Boosting Benefits for Martyr Families and Veterans
The TBMM Milli Savunma Komisyonu approved a nine‑article amendment package to the Turkish Civil Servants Pension Law. The changes guarantee that the parents of martyrs receive a monthly payment at least equal to the net minimum wage and raise the extra allowance for care‑needy veterans from two to 2.5 times the minimum wage.
The proposal also increases monthly allowances for disabled soldiers, security guards, military students and civilians, introduces higher pay grades for university‑educated beneficiaries, and raises the re‑examination age for enlisted personnel from 41 to 55.
