Turkey's Parliament Reelects Supreme Audit President, Sends Media and Civil Service Bills to Plenary

The Turkish Grand National Assembly convened a General Assembly session to consider amendments related to security regulations and to hold elections for the presidency of the Supreme Audit Institution (Sayıştay). Incumbent Metin Yener was re‑elected as Sayıştay President in a secret ballot; the main opposition CHP abstained, criticizing the lack of parliamentary input in the selection process and walked out of the chamber.

Separately, the Assembly's Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee approved two amendment bills – one altering the law governing the state broadcaster Bayrak Radio Television Corporation (BRTK) and another revising the public employees law. Both bills were passed by majority vote and forwarded to the General Assembly for further debate. Committee meetings were attended by officials from the Prime Ministry, Finance Ministry, and relevant regulatory bodies.
