Turkey's Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş Announces New Anti‑Terror Law at Mustafa Cambaz Photo Awards

The 5th Şehit Mustafa Cambaz Photo Competition award ceremony was held on 1 August at the Adnan Menderes Congress Center on the Democracy and Freedom Island. Organized by Albayrak Media Group with support from Borsa İstanbul, Halkbank, Türk Altın, Türk Telekom, VakıfBank and Ziraat Bank, the event awarded a total of 2 million TL across four main categories and a special prize. Thirteen photographers received awards from TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and other officials.

During the ceremony, Kurtulmuş used the platform to present a draft “National Solidarity and Social Integration” law that ties the abolition of terrorist organisations to the law’s enactment. He linked the proposal to the 15 July 2016 coup attempt, thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and declared that Turkey is opening a new era in which “weapons will forever be silent” on Turkish soil.
