President Erdoğan unveils 1 trillion‑lira manufacturing credit package ahead of NATO summit
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, after a two‑hour cabinet meeting at the presidential complex, announced that Turkey’s investment‑advance credit programme will be expanded to 750 billion lira and a new 250 billion‑lira conditional loan will be added, bringing total financing for the manufacturing sector to 1 trillion lira. The measures aim to boost production, exports and high‑technology investment.
Erdoğan also highlighted the successful hosting of the 36th NATO Leaders’ Summit in Ankara on July 7‑8. The summit gathered the heads of state and government of the 32 NATO members, including U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as leaders from Asia‑Pacific and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative partners. The event featured heightened security, the reopening of Etimesgut Military Airport, and cultural displays. Erdoğan used the occasion to reaffirm Turkey’s role in the alliance and to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.
