Turkey's Quran Course Programs Address Addiction and Family Resilience
In Adıyaman, the provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Mufti’s office organized a summer program for students attending Quran courses. The sessions covered the dangers of technology, tobacco, alcohol and drug addictions, highlighted their impact on individuals and society, and promoted healthy lifestyle habits. Officials Mesut Polat and Mufti Mehmet Reşat Şavlı stressed the importance of early awareness to protect children from digital and other dependencies.
In Giresun, the provincial Mufti’s office partnered with the Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Turkish Red Crescent to hold a seminar for women Quran teachers titled “Emotional Resilience in the Family.” Psychologist Duygunur Tiryaki Kesikoğlu explained coping strategies for family crises and the role of parents as solution‑focused role models. The event was introduced by Red Crescent leader Reyhan Pirdal and included mufti assistants, teachers and volunteers.
