Turkey's TKDK backs 75 million‑lira dairy plant for women cooperative in Çorum

The Agricultural and Rural Development Support Agency (TKDK) signed a grant contract for the "Emekçi Kadınlar 19 Süt İşleme Tesisi" project in Çorum, Turkey. Under the IPARD III Programme, the project is valued at 75.6 million TRY, with TKDK providing a 50 % grant of 37.8 million TRY and the women's cooperative covering the remainder.

The facility, to be built along the Çorum‑Ankara highway, will process up to 10 tons of raw milk daily, producing cheese, yogurt, ayran, butter and other dairy products. TKDK regional coordinator Mustafa Mansur Yalvaçer highlighted the investment’s role in boosting rural development and women’s participation in agriculture. Cooperative president Fatma Nur Şenol said the plant will increase local milk processing capacity, add value to regional dairy products, and create employment opportunities for women.

The project is presented as a model for women‑led agribusiness and rural economic growth in Turkey.
