Turkey's TOKİ rolls out 20,000 home sales and 15,000 rental units across the country

The Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ) announced an open‑sale campaign that will make roughly 20,000 new homes available in 64 provinces. The programme, coordinated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, starts on 15 June and runs until 17 July. Applicants must be Turkish citizens aged 18 or over, must not already own a home, and no lottery or application fee is required. Buyers can choose from 2+1, 3+1 or larger units and will receive a 25 % discount for cash purchases, with additional payment plans offering up to 72 months at reduced interest rates.

In parallel, TOKİ is launching a separate social‑housing project in Istanbul that will provide 15,000 rental apartments on both the Asian and European sides of the city. The units will be allocated by lottery, with the first hand‑overs slated for September. Eligible households – including low‑income families, civil servants, retirees and people in urban‑renewal zones – will receive three‑year leases at roughly half the market rent. After the lease term, rents may be renegotiated or the apartments reassigned to new eligible tenants.
