Turkey's Trade Minister Bolat Announces Export‑Driven Growth Targets

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat told the National Vision in Trade Summit that Turkey’s economy has expanded six‑fold in dollar terms to about $1.639 trillion. He outlined a goal to raise total exports to $396 billion, with service exports rising from $14 billion to $122.5 billion and overall export volume climbing from $36 billion to $273.5 billion by the end of May. Bolat linked the strategy to mitigating global shocks, citing the ongoing Gulf conflict, blockades of the Strait of Hormuz and rising energy and commodity prices as risks to supply and inflation. He asserted that Turkey’s financial system has become more resilient, enabling the country to sustain growth despite these challenges.
