Turkey's Trade Ministry unveils extensive logistics sector support program

The Ministry of Trade announced a suite of 13 support measures for the logistics and transport sector under the Service Sectors Leap Program. The package includes up to 500 million Turkish lira for branding initiatives, grants for agency commissions, foreign unit openings, personnel hiring, participation in domestic events, and marketing activities. A separate Overseas Logistics Distribution Network Program can provide roughly 440 million lira per project to build international distribution networks.

Officials said the measures aim to raise the international competitiveness of Turkish logistics firms, help them enter new markets and increase service exports. Export values for logistics services rose from US$2.7 billion in 2002 and are projected to reach US$42.4 billion by 2025, placing Turkey ninth worldwide. The program is presented as a key pillar of the "Turkey Century" vision and the broader strategy to make Turkey a regional and global logistics hub.
