Turkey extends tax‑debt restructuring deadline for vehicle owners to August 31

The Revenue Administration’s tax‑debt restructuring programme allows vehicle owners who owe motor vehicle tax, related penalties, traffic fines or road‑toll charges to restructure their debts and continue to obtain mandatory vehicle inspections. Applications must be submitted by 31 August 2026 through the tax authority’s website, the digital tax office or e‑Devlet, and can be sent directly to the relevant tax office or by post. Under the scheme, owners who have arranged instalment payments are permitted to have their vehicles inspected throughout the restructuring period, ensuring compliance with traffic‑safety obligations.

TÜVTÜRK reminded owners of the deadline, with General Manager Koray Özcan emphasizing that “vehicle inspection is an essential safety requirement” and urging those who qualify to complete the process in time. The deadline applies nationwide, and detailed guidance is available on the Revenue Administration’s official site.
