Turkey's 'Two People One Life' Project Holds First Marriage in Adıyaman
The Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and the Turkey Diyanet Foundation (TDV) launched the "İki İnsan Bir Hayat" (Two People One Life) project to provide financial assistance to young couples and strengthen the family institution. In Adıyaman, the project’s first supported couple, Gizem Akgün and Mehmet Emin Çetin, were married in a ceremony at the provincial mufti’s office.
Il Mufti Mehmet Reşat Şavlı officiated the marriage, after a Qur'an recitation and prayers. Families, local officials and representatives of the Diyanet and TDV attended, and the mufti presented the couple with their marriage certificates. The event marked the inaugural implementation of the project’s on‑the‑ground support for young families in the region.
