Turki Alalshikh announces completion of filming for ‘Al Amir’ series

Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, has announced the completion of filming for the drama series ‘Al Amir’ (The Prince). Described as a major production for both Arab and international audiences, the series is a collaboration between Sela Studios and MBC Shahid.

The plot follows an Egyptian officer living a dangerous double life, infiltrating international secret conflict networks under the alias of a high-profile terrorist. As his mission collapses, he must race against time to prevent an imminent attack amidst betrayal and conflicting interests.

The production features an international cast, led by Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz, alongside Amina Khalil and Sami El Sheikh from Egypt. The ensemble also includes Tuba Büyüküstün and Meryem Uzerli from Turkey, Pedro Alonso from Spain, and Paul Anderson from the United Kingdom. The series is directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by Salah Al-Juhaini. Filming took place between Cairo and the Al-Hosn Big Time studios in Riyadh. The series is scheduled for an exclusive release on the Shahid digital platform in 2027.
