Turkish Airlines Invests in SAFFA Sustainable Aviation Fuel Fund

Turkish Airlines signed an agreement to join SAFFA Fund I, LP, an investment vehicle managed by Burnham Sterling Asset Management that aims to accelerate the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The fund, launched in December 2023 with Airbus as anchor investor, gathers leading airlines and financial institutions to invest in mature SAF projects across diverse technologies and regions.

Turkish Airlines’ participation supports its long‑term growth strategy, carbon‑reduction targets and supply‑security goals. Chief Investment & Strategy Officer Levent Konuk noted that the investment will help the airline contribute to the SAF ecosystem and strengthen international collaborations, while Burnham Sterling’s Michael Dickey Morgan highlighted the added scale and confidence the airline brings to the fund’s strategy.
