Turkish arts scene announces major concert series for 2026-2027
The Antalya State Symphony Orchestra (ADSO) has announced a diverse program for its 2026-2027 art season. Managed by the General Directorate of Fine Arts under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the season will feature approximately 25 concerts held every Friday at 20:30 at the Atatürk Cultural Center. Highlights include the world premiere of İlyas Mirzayev’s Violin Concerto, performances of Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’, and the ‘Nasreddin Hoca Suite’. Special commemorative concerts for Atatürk and İsmet İnönü are also scheduled, with the season concluding on May 28, 2027, at the Aspendos Ancient Theatre.
In Istanbul, pop singer Tarkan is reportedly preparing for a major concert series in January 2027. Following an eight-concert run at the Volkswagen Arena in January 2026, claims suggest the artist has reached an agreement to perform 10 nights at the same venue. While official dates and ticket details have not yet been released, the planned series follows significant demand from his previous performances.
