Turkish authorities conduct illegal betting operation across five provinces

Law enforcement agencies in Turkey have conducted simultaneous raids across five provinces—Kütahya, Burdur, Antalya, Eskişehir, and İzmir—targeting organized illegal betting networks. The investigation, led by the Kütahya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, resulted in the detention of 76 suspects out of 84 individuals for whom arrest warrants were issued.

Investigators identified two distinct organized betting structures. The suspects include two alleged organization leaders, 13 managers, and 17 members. Additionally, 52 individuals are suspected of allowing their bank accounts to be used for illegal betting transactions.

Financial analysis revealed a total transaction volume of 14,928,530,000 TL across the involved bank accounts. Authorities noted that this figure represents the total movement of funds through the accounts and does not necessarily equate to the total criminal proceeds or personal profit of the suspects. Following police processing, 35 suspects were referred to the courthouse, while efforts continue to locate six fugitives.
