Turkish authorities impose up to 300,000 lira fines on illegal motorcyclists

In Sakarya province, a 24‑year‑old man rode a motorcycle without a licence to buy kebab and was stopped by police. He had previously lost his licence for drunk driving. Authorities fined him about 200,000 lira for multiple violations.

In Aksaray province, four young riders performed dangerous stunts on a public road, recorded the acts and posted the videos on social media. Police tracked them, confiscated their unregistered, licence‑less motorcycles and imposed fines of roughly 300,000 lira each, also banning the bikes from traffic. The suspects were handed over to the courts.

Both incidents illustrate a crackdown on illegal and reckless motorcycling in Turkey, with heavy administrative penalties.
