Turkish authorities seize expired animal medicine and illegal fat

Authorities in Turkey have conducted separate operations targeting illegal and expired animal products. In Uşak, a joint effort between the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry led to the seizure of 5,958 boxes of expired animal medicine and 225 units of unbilled animal medicinal products at a business. One suspect was detained, and the products were handed over for destruction.

In Diyarbakır’s Çınar district, gendarmerie teams intercepted a vehicle containing approximately 3 tons of animal fat. The fat was found to be unregistered by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and unsuitable for human consumption. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the driver for the trade of spoiled or altered food products.
