TCMB revokes licenses for Payco and Junomoney

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) has revoked the operating licenses of Payco Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri AŞ and Junomoney Elektronik Para ve Ödeme Hizmetleri AŞ. These decisions, made under Law No. 6493, were officially announced in the Government Gazette.

In the broader financial landscape, Bank of America has issued a forecast suggesting that the TCMB will maintain its current policy rate in September but implement a 100 basis point interest rate cut in October. The bank also anticipates that September inflation will fall within the 30% to 30.5% range.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley has expressed a cautiously optimistic view of the Turkish banking sector, specifically recommending an overweight position for Garanti BBVA and Akbank. The firm notes that the reduction in funding costs following the TCMB's policy rate adjustment to 37% is expected to support net interest margins and profitability.
