BIST 100 index slips modestly as Tekfen Holding tops weekly gainers

The BIST 100 index closed at 13,779.39 points, down 0.14% on the day with a total turnover of 189.6 billion TL. Over the week the index rose 2.39% to the same level, supported by sector‑specific moves; the financial leasing and factoring sector gained 3.44% while metal primary industry fell 3.35%.

Tekfen Holding led the weekly rally, jumping 35.28% and becoming the top‑performing stock. CW Enerji (+24.12%) and Turkish Gold Enterprises (+18.09%) followed. Şekerbank recorded the steepest loss, sliding 12.63%, with Balsu Gıda and Otokar also posting double‑digit declines.

Bank of America’s client sales pressured Ereğli Demir ve Çelik Fabrikaları (EREGL), which dropped 6.9% after a 1.6 billion TL sell‑off. Other heavily sold stocks included Turkish Airlines, Tüpraş and Aselsan.

Global cues such as weaker U.S. non‑farm payrolls and Middle‑East geopolitical headlines influenced local sentiment, while analysts watch upcoming Turkish industrial production, current‑account data and the central bank’s inflation report for further direction.
