Turkish Cities Implement Roadwork Measures to Ease Traffic

In Konya, municipal traffic authorities announced that nightly road maintenance on Adnan Menderes Avenue will begin at 00:00 on 7 July 2026 and continue until 06:00 the following morning. A temporary lane narrowing will be applied between Adnan Menderes Hali and the Lamcı Underpass, and drivers are urged to follow posted signs and use alternative routes to avoid disruptions.

In İzmit, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality completed a 2,700‑metre reinforcement of Nizamoğlu İsmail Street, creating a new heavy‑vehicle corridor that bypasses the previously congested Menderes Street. The upgraded road features a reinforced base and new asphalt surfacing, improving safety and reducing noise, vibration and traffic density for trucks and trailers.

Both projects aim to improve traffic flow, enhance road safety and minimise inconvenience for motorists in their respective regions.
