Turkish cities launch road and sidewalk upgrades across Ordu, Istanbul, Malatya and Bilecik
The Ordu Metropolitan Municipality is extending the Ünye bike and walking path network. The second phase adds a 3‑km bike route from Çamlık to Gölevi Mahallesi and a 1‑km pedestrian lane, bringing the district’s total to 10 km. The works include colored asphalt, new lighting poles and modern street furniture.
In Istanbul’s Bayrampaşa district, officials are renewing Bağlar Caddesi with fresh asphalt, upgraded sidewalks and tretuvar surfaces, aiming for a safer, more aesthetic thoroughfare.
Battalgazi Municipality in Malatya completed hot‑asphalt paving in the Fırat and Karabağlar neighbourhoods, recycling removed pavement for future use and improving road comfort.
A village road in Bilecik’s Pazaryeri district began a Bitümlü Sıhot Karışım (BSK) asphalt project. Ninety‑year‑old İlyas poured the first layer on a 4‑km stretch, part of a 10‑km road costing 34.6 million lira, with a 6‑m width and 8‑cm thickness, using locally produced aggregates.
Additional road‑renovation work continues in Esenyurt, while the Nursultan Nazarbayev Boulevard asphalt project has been finished.
