Turkish citizens report health improvements after quitting smoking
Individuals in various Turkish provinces are reporting significant health and social improvements after successfully quitting smoking through support from local Healthy Life Centers.
In Van, Hüsnü Özlü, a 52-year-old father of five, ended a 40-year smoking habit after seeking professional assistance at a smoking cessation clinic. Özlü noted that before quitting, he struggled with physical activities such as walking and climbing stairs due to shortness of breath. He also highlighted improved family relationships, stating that his children no longer react negatively to the smell of smoke.
In Kırşehir, Muhittin Özdemir and Demet Karahan achieved success through the Nasuhdede Healthy Life Center. Özdemir, an ambulance driver, quit after 35 years of continuous use, motivated by his grandchildren's discomfort with the smell. Following a month of patch therapy and medical guidance, he reported improved breathing and the ability to walk for 45 to 50 minutes daily. Karahan also successfully ceased a 20-year smoking habit through the center's services.
