Turkish city authorities carry out major sewer and beach cleaning operations

The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality's ASAT Directorate continued extensive sewer‑line cleaning and manhole‑cap adjustments across three neighborhoods in Muratpaşa district. Work to date has cleared 5,346 pipe connections, cleaned 220 km of sewer and realigned 3,837 caps, helping prevent odors, blockages and protecting public health.

In Hatay, municipal crews conducting routine beach clean‑ups on the Samandağ coast discovered a juvenile green sea turtle tangled in a plastic bag. Personnel carefully removed the bag and returned the animal to the Mediterranean, highlighting local efforts to safeguard wildlife and reduce plastic pollution.
