Turkish coastal towns launch summer beach clean‑ups and fee plans
The municipality of Kdz. Ereğli prepared the blue‑flag Sevgi ve Barış Beach for the 2024 summer season, conducting a thorough sand cleaning that removed stones, broken glass and other hazards. Officials also upgraded showers, walkways and common‑use areas to make the shoreline safe for barefoot visitors while preserving its natural texture.
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality announced the 2024 fee schedule for its nine blue‑flag beaches, effective 13 June. Free toilet services will be provided, while rentals for umbrellas, loungers and kits range from 150 TL for a single item to 400 TL for a family set. Parking, caravan and camping sites are priced between 175 TL and 600 TL per day, with discounts for martyrs’ families, veterans and disabled persons. Payments must be made by credit or bank card, and beach services operate daily from 09:00 to 19:00, with some sites offering 24‑hour access.
